Best things to do in Soma Bay Red Sea

Water sports at Soma Bay

Soma Bay just down the coast from Hurghada, offers a combination of semi-constant wind and warm, shallow water for kitesurfing, windsurfing, parasailing, waterskiing and paddleboarding. There are plenty of schools, such as the Tornado Surf Centre, which offer kitesurfing, wingfoiling and stand-up paddleboarding instruction to beginners in the lagoon, as well as an expansive freeride area for those with more experience. Soma Bay is just under an hour from Hurghada city, so it’s close enough for a day trip .

There is a range of places to stay, including the five-star Mövenpick resort, or water sports specialist the Breakers Diving & Surf Lodge.

Play golf at Soma Bay

There are plenty of short courses attached to hotels, as well as a couple of championship courses for the more discerning golfer,Somabay Golf.

Soma Bay's 18-hole championship golf course is a masterpiece. Designed by the legendary Gary Player, this course combines challenging holes with breathtaking Red Sea views. The course is not just for golf enthusiasts; it's also an opportunity to connect with nature and relish the picturesque surroundings.

The championship course is an excellent test of golf for the seasoned golfer and low handicap player, however due to the variety of teeing grounds the course is a fair test for those starting their golfing journeys.  The course is rated from 4 sets of tees that provide an enjoyable experience for all.
